At CDI, we have assembled a team of faculty members who bring a wealth of practical knowledge to our organization for the benefit of our Resident groups. Most faculty members share teaching and mentoring opportunities between both the AEGD and GPR programs at CDI.
Below, you will meet some of the great faculty that have been assembled to help train you during your tenure at CDI. Our policy is to make faculty readily available for questions and concerns. We want you to learn and grow and are dedicated to assisting you along your learning pathway.
Dr. Hussein Elrawy is a graduate of Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt obtaining a degree in Dental Medicine and Oral Surgery. Dr. Elrawy has also completed an MBA at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH. His previous teaching appointments include acting as an Assistant Professor in the Restorative Department at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry and as a Program Director at the Metro Health Medical Center. Dr. Elrawy enjoys a hospital appointment at St. Vincent Charity Medical Center and has maintained the private practice of dentistry in the Cleveland area. To his credit, Dr. Elrawy has published an article on facial pain (see link below)

Dr. Mustafa G. Khallaf has been awarded degrees in Oral and Dental Medicine and in Total Quality Management in Healthcare form Al-Azhar University and the American University, respectively, both in Cairo, Egypt. He has obtained a M.S. in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery from Al-Azhar University and a PhD from Nottingham University, U.K. Dr. Khallaf obtained his D.D.S. through the AEGD program at St. Vincent Charity Medical Center. He has held teaching appointments at Al-Azhar University in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery department as attending faculty and serves as Attending Faculty at the Cleveland Dental Institute. Dr. Khallaf enjoys hospital privileges at St. Vincent Medical Center and at Ashtabula County Medical Center in Ashtabula, OH. Dr. Khallaf has numerous publications, which can be identified below.

Dr. Waleed Elmallah graduated from Cairo University in Egypt with a Bachelor's Degree in Dentistry and a Master's Degree in Restorative. He also completed a PhD in Endodontics at Al Alzahar University, also in Cairo. He completed his D.D.S. degree by completing the GPR program at MetroHealth in Cleveland, OH. Dr. Elmallah maintains Attending Faculty status at both CDI and MetroHealth Medical Center Department of Oral Health in Endodontics and hospital appointments at St. Vincent Charity Medical Center and MetroHealth Medical Center, both in Cleveland, OH.
