At CDI, we have assembled a team of faculty members that bring a wealth of practical knowledge to our organization for the benefit of our Resident groups. Most faculty members share teaching and mentoring opportunities between both the AEGD and GPR programs at CDI.
Below, you will meet some of the great faculty that have been assembled to help train you during your tenure at CDI. Our policy is to make faculty readily available for questions and concerns. We want you to learn and grow and are dedicated to assisting you along your learning pathway.
Dr. Hussein Elrawy is a graduate of Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt obtaining a degree in Dental Medicine and Oral Surgery. Dr. Elrawy has also completed an MBA at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH. His previous teaching appointments include acting as an Assistant Professor in the Restorative Department at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry and as a Program Director at the Metro Health Medical Center. Dr. Elrawy enjoys a hospital appointment at St. Vincent Charity Medical Center and has maintained the private practice of dentistry in the Cleveland area. To his credit, Dr. Elrawy has published an article on facial pain (see link below)

Dr. Mustafa G. Khallaf has been awarded degrees in Oral and Dental Medicine and in Total Quality Management in Healthcare form Al-Azhar University and the American University, respectively, both in Cairo, Egypt. He has obtained a M.S. in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery from Al-Azhar University and a PhD from Nottingham University, U.K. Dr. Khallaf obtained his D.D.S. through the AEGD program at St. Vincent Charity Medical Center. He has held teaching appointments at Al-Azhar University in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery department as attending faculty and serves as Attending Faculty at the Cleveland Dental Institute. Dr. Khallaf enjoys hospital privileges at St. Vincent Medical Center and at Ashtabula County Medical Center in Ashtabula, OH. Dr. Khallaf has numerous publications, which can be identified below.

Dr. Waleed Elmallah graduated from Cairo University in Egypt with a Bachelor's Degree in Dentistry and a Master's Degree in Restorative. He also completed a PhD in Endodontics at Al Alzahar University, also in Cairo. He completed his D.D.S. degree by completing the GPR program at MetroHealth in Cleveland, OH. Dr. Elmallah maintains Attending Faculty status at both CDI and MetroHealth Medical Center Department of Oral Health in Endodontics and hospital appointments at St. Vincent Charity Medical Center and MetroHealth Medical Center, both in Cleveland, OH.

Dr. Donald A. Morgan is a graduate of The Ohio State University College of Dentistry for both his D.D.S. and GPR Certificate. He served in the GPR for two years and as Chief Resident for one year. Dr. Morgan taught in the Residency program at The Ohio State University, managed the practice management courses for the undergraduate dental students at the College of Dentistry, and also worked for the VA Dental Service in Chillicothe, OH. Dr. Morgan also co-managed the Practical Private Practice Externship Program for the AGD residents at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry for several years. Throughout his career, Dr. Morgan has maintained a private practice treating complicated and non-complicated patient populations in the Central Ohio area.

Dr. Zaben attended John Carrol University where she received a Bachelor's Degree in Biology. She studied Global Interactions at Cleveland State University, where she obtained a Master of Arts Degree. Dr. Zaben completed her dental training at Case Western Reserve University. She is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the Greater Cleveland Dental Society, and the American Dental Association.
Dr. Karfes graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 1958. He works in Cleveland, OH and 8 other locations and specializes in General Dentistry, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and Oral Surgery.
Dr. Khadier completed her dental training at Ajman University of Science and Technology. In addition to her work at CDI, Dr. Khadier maintains a practice with Angel Dental where she treats children.
